Always Pack Light
The first rule is to always pack as lightly as possible. You may think that you have reduced your packing to bare minimum. But, try to reduce your packing by another 20 percent. This will enable you to reduce the amount of the stuff you pack even when you think you have packed the minimum items possible.
Packing light saves you baggage fees when you travel. It also enables you to avoid potential theft. Therefore, try to pack as light as possible whenever you travel.
Research but Avoid Over Planning
When you conduct research before a trip, you may be faced with anxiety. This might compel you to over plan your trip trying to make everything work out perfectly. Some people are never satisfied until the plan out their entire trip. When you want everything to work out as per your plan, you will end up being frustrated if things fail to go your way. Therefore, conduct research about your travel destination but don’t over plan. When coming up with your itinerary, be flexible.
Take Photos but Leave Footprints
This essentially means having respects for travel destinations. Think about the impact of your visit on the environment, society and culture. Make sure that you leave a positive impact. You can be careless when nobody is watching. However, remember that the places you visit are homes to other people. Also remember that travel is generally a carbon-heavy activity. Therefore, keep footprints light because earth is home to everyone.
